The First Breath of Grace

Kari grew up in a large, active Mormon family. She moved out of state for school. Many Christians reached out to her along the way. They shared the confidence they had through Christ. 

She began to doubt her Mormon roots. She was terrified that Mormonism might be wrong. How would her family react if she left?

Finally, Kari fell to her knees. “God, I know the Mormon church isn’t true, but I want to believe you are. God, I need to know if you’re real! Just tell me whatever I need to do, and I’ll do it.”

The Spirit echoed the witness of her Christian friends: “I already did it.” 

“I took my first breath of grace!” Kari describes how she felt like she was drowning. She sensed there was more out there, but she was trapped beneath the surface and didn’t know how to break through. But the Spirit did, and she took her first breath of a new life.

There are many others like Kari who are still drowning. It’s a terrifying picture. They’re desperately searching for God, but they’re still trapped beneath the surface.
